Before your first appointment
Confirm the time, location, and purpose of the appointment with our team. Ask whether the visit is an admissions conversation, clinical assessment, or a scheduled treatment session, and what information to bring.
Our address is 150 Charlois Blvd., Suite 310, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Discuss transportation, parking directions, or accessibility needs before you travel so you can plan your arrival.
Getting to know your needs
An assessment is a conversation about your substance use, physical and mental health, previous care, home environment, responsibilities, and goals. These details help the clinical team consider the appropriate level of support.
You can bring questions about the process, treatment options, or how care might fit into your life. The next step depends on your circumstances and clinical needs.
Understanding your program
Triad offers Day Treatment, Intensive Outpatient Treatment, and Outpatient Treatment. These programs provide different amounts of structure while clients live outside the treatment facility.
Your plan may include individual counseling, group sessions, family involvement, recovery education, or medication management when appropriate. Ask what is included in your recommended program.
Planning your week
Before committing to a schedule, ask about the actual attendance days, session times, breaks, and expectations between visits. Discuss work, school, caregiving, and travel with the team. A general description of IOP or day treatment does not establish your individual schedule.
For a comparison of the two programs, read PHP vs. IOP.
Your first day and ongoing care
Use the first visit to understand who is involved in your care, how to ask questions, and what the next appointment will involve. Ask about group expectations, privacy, family participation, and whom to contact about scheduling.
As treatment progresses, discuss your goals, difficulties, and continuing support needs with your team. Planning for the next stage of care is part of understanding your recovery options.
